The Prince George Rod & Gun Club is constructing a world class shooting facility in the area of Mount Baldy Hughes, south of Prince George, British Columbia. The safety and range area for this facility incorporates approximately 750 acres. The PGRGC has a large outdoor 1000 Meter Range; as well as, a frequently used Indoor Range.
Shooting Styles
IPSC (action shooting) is dynamic and challenging, and one of the fastest growing shooting sports in the world today. Courses of fire utilize many aspects not found in the other more traditional shooting disciplines, such as movement by the shooter, drawing from the holster, moving targets, multiple targets, and the freedom for the shooter to solve the shooting problems presented by the stage design.

SMALL BORE rifle shooting encompasses three disciplines: 50 meter Sporting rifle, Silhouette rifle, and 10 meter Air rifle. Sporting and Silhouette rifle are both done on the outdoor range at the Prince George Rod and Gun during the snow-free season, and Air rifle is conducted on the indoor range primarily during the winter months.

The Prince George Rod and Gun Club operates two BIG BORE, or center-fire rifle ranges, at the Hartman Road facility. The firing point provides for shooting at ranges of from 25, 50 or 100 yards on one range and 200 yards on the other.

The Shotgun section of our shooting styles includes Sporting Clays and Trap Shooting. The TRAP SHOOTING section of the Prince George Rod & Gun Club is affiliated with the Pacific International Trapshooting Association (PITA). The trap shooting facilities are located at the PGRGC Hartman Road range, west of the city of Prince George, BC. The SPORTING CLAYS target game began in Britain and Europe as an approximation of field shooting for birds and small game, such as rabbits. Unlike the shouldered gun when a trap shooter calls for the “bird,” the SC shooter must start with the butt of the shotgun below the shoulder.

New to the Prince George Rod and Gun
Cowboy Action Shooting is a multi-faceted shooting sport in which contestants compete with firearms typical of those used in the taming of the Old West: single action revolvers, pistol caliber lever action rifles, and old time shotguns. The shooting competition is staged in a unique, characterized, "Old West" style. It is a timed sport in which shooters compete for prestige on a course of different shooting stages.
